Commission on Aging

  1. AARP Smart Driver Course

    May 23, 2019, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Front Street

Designed specifically for older drivers, the instruction takes into consideration the physical changes of the maturing driver, and identifies ways that older drivers may compensate for those changes. Some of the items covered with this course are, current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate a vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. Several major auto insurance carriers in Michigan offer discounts to graduates of the program. Interested persons should contact their automobile insurance carrier to see if they offer such a discount. The Commission on Aging will provide coffee and water, and you are welcome to bring lunch and/or refreshments to class. A microwave and refrigerator are available for use.
