During the COVID-19 pandemic, Senior Center Network staff has been providing “essential” services only. Employees are focusing on distributing curbside meals, making assurance calls by phone, recording virtual exercise classes, and distributing fresh food. The Senior Center Network team will continue to look for new and innovative ways to deliver programs and services, while protecting your health and well-being.
Although we are not yet able to meet together inside our buildings, we are gradually bringing back programs to give you a place to go. Our primary concern is to open safely and responsibly. The following programs have been reinstated at the Senior Center: Hiking, Legal Assistance, Line Dancing, PIlates, Shuffleboard, Yoga on the Beach, and court reservations for Tennis and Pickleball. All activities require a reservation, so please call ahead to learn more. Check out our list of current activities. Coming soon: Exercise/Yoga classes at most locations, BINGO in the park at most locations, and foot care.
Meanwhile, please take your own precautions to stay healthy. Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds. Stay home if you are not feeling well; call ahead to your healthcare provider if you are having serious respiratory illness. Open your windows for good ventilation and practice social distancing – maintaining at least 6 feet between you and others. If you are in need of supplies and unable to get out or get someone to help you, call the Senior Center at 231-922-4911 and we will do our best to get you what you need. We will get through this together and we are here for you if you need us. Thank you for hanging in there with us in the meantime!

Proposed New Building Plans
You’re looking at the proposed north facing front porch of our new Senior Center! The front porch faces beautiful Grand Traverse Bay. These proposed plans have been presented to the City of Traverse City Commission, Grand Traverse County Board of Commissioners and the Parks Board of both the City and County. Architect, Ray Kendra, with Environment Architects, is fine tuning the design with input taken from these boards. The plans have been on display at the Traverse City Senior Center for a number of weeks, seeking input. Please take time to look the plans over and if you have any input, send your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org or call Manager, Lori Wells at 231-922-4911 ext. 101.
